There is a great team that leads the local Church in Wakefield and also provide accountability and balance for the ministries that reach out around the world from Destiny.
IAN & RACHEL CRITCHLEY
The senior pastor of Destiny Christian Church is Ian Critchley and his wife Rachel. Born in Stoke-on-Trent, Ian trained for the Christian Ministry in Kenley, London; and began full-time ministry in Coventry – he moved to minister in the USA for some time. Ian and his wife Rachel (who comes from North Wales) pioneered North Wales Community Church at The Lighthouse, Prestatyn, where they lived for thirteen years before moving with their three children to Wakefield in 1989.
Ian has been in full-time ministry since 1973 - he is an enthusiast! He lives for, believes for and works for a glorious church that will be strong, growing, making a difference and playing its part in seeing a major Revival. Ian & Rachel Critchley believe that ‘Church’ is God's great plan for seeing the world saved and people blessed by the favour of God.
They love people and they love the church - because that’s what God loves. Ian says, "I believe that the Gospel of Jesus Christ really does work, it brings forgiveness, peace and joy, healing and hope and favour to people's lives, and when people see this the Church will just keep growing and growing and become the influence centre of our communities. Church is going to be really big news in the days to come!"
Ian and Rachel Critchley are recognised as having an apostolic ministry to serve ministries in the UK and around the world - especially through Destiny Connections International, a network of friendships and partnering of churches and ministries. This has opened doors for them to travel extensively, preaching and encouraging ministers and churches in many countries including: India , Malawi, The Czech Republic, Zambia etc. They have also led many Mission Teams to The Czech Republic, Malawi and India to support local churches in either evangelism or practical projects.
Ian leads a team of anointed men and women in Wakefield who enjoy a wonderful relationship together as they serve the Lord.
WESLEY & ANNETTE CRITCHLEY
Wesley has been an associate Pastor at Destiny Church Wakefield since the summer of 2008. There has been a strong sense of the call of God on his life for ministry for many years, he has now emerged as a strong leader and a gifted preacher. This call has been confirmed through significant prophetic words. Previous to his work as a Pastor at Destiny he worked as a Lecturer at Wakefield College where he was the Team leader for visually impaired students. Annette is a vascular nurse at Pinderfields Hospital and together they bring a valued dimension to the Pastoral Team of this fast growing church.
ALLAN & SHEILA KIDD
Allan Kidd is an elder at Destiny. Allan is a Lecturer in building studies, but has had lots of experience in the Pastoral ministry. Allan teaches the Foundations Course at Destiny and has a desire to see people ‘rooted’ in the local church. Sheila supports her husband in his ministry now their two daughters are grown up and have set up homes of their own.
GRAHAM & SHEILA MARTIN
Graham is an elder at Destiny. Graham and Sheila have lived all-out for God for many years. They own a Carriage-Masters business and have three daughters and three grand children. Graham is a wonderful encourager, he has a clear insight into the roles and function of ministry and has proved to be a most faithful partner in the ministry at Destiny over many years.
