How to Become a Christian
Dear Friend
· Are you looking for answers:
· Is there a God?
· How can I get to know Him?
· Would God accept me?
· What about eternity, heaven and hell?
There are answers, real answers that work, found through a living faith in someone who loved you enough to die for you - his name is Jesus Christ.
Mankind is lost when it tries to exist without a relationship with God. Because man has wronged God and his fellowman so much it is impossible to enjoy a relationship with God without first having that 'sin' problem dealt with. That is why Jesus died - to forgive you and to make it possible for you to be free from every limitation that sin has put on you.
Here are 4 simple steps to help you make your commitment to Jesus Christ to become a Christian:
1. RECOGNISE - that without God's love for us we shall never make it, either here or to heaven. - It's like coming to your senses!

2. REPENT - that means making a decision - to turn your life over completely to God, asking Jesus to forgive you and give you a new life. The Bible calls this being 'born-again'. Being baptised in water is an expression of this - the old life buried and a new life begins. - It's like starting all over again with a clean sheet!

3. RECEIVE - God's forgiveness and His new life. In fact you receive none less than Jesus Christ Himself coming to live in you and empower you by the Holy Spirit. You'll never be on your own again! God will always be with you, loving, strengthening, guiding and talking to you. He will accept you into His family (called the church) and you can call God 'My Father' from now on! - It's like Heaven on earth - God with you!

4. RESPOND - by starting your new life as you mean to go on. Live for the glory of Jesus Christ. Read God's book - the Bible. Pray, that is 'talk' to the Lord everyday. Be joined to a good Church, like Destiny Church Wakefield, where you can be helped, and with the care of a Pastor (who is like a shepherd looking after his sheep) and the support of good friendships of the other members (who are like brothers and sisters in a family) you will grow in your faith and become a strong and fulfilled Christian. ) - It's like having a whole new out-look and purpose in your life!

Make the decision now, pray and ask the Lord Jesus to be your Saviour and tell Him you want to become a true Christian. That's how it all starts - then you can go on to a life-times adventure of enjoying and discovering a personal relationship with God.
