Destiny Church Wakefield is a large, lively and loving church family that wants to enable you to meet with Jesus and grow to love Him.

We have our main service every Sunday at our Church building in Wakefield at 9.15am or 11am or online from 9.15am and each Wednesday evening at 7.15PM usually online.

If you want a “local Church near me” come join us – it’s worth the trip. There will be vibrant modern and traditional worship songs with a full band along with relevant teaching from the Bible plus full kids Sunday School groups for with interactive age-appropriate content, all surrounded by a welcome atmosphere and great coffee too.

Exciting, modern and vibrant singing with a great worship band, excellent and relevant teaching, a fun filled children’s and youth ministry to give life skills and explore their faith. There is a large community of friendly people from every background just like you to get to know.

At Destiny you will find we value the Word, Worship and our Witness. We believe in the Bible, we love to sing songs of praise to express our appreciation of who God is and we want to evangelise and live a life that tells everyone about how life-changing a personal relationship with Jesus can be.

Destiny has an amazing building – a very large restored Theatre close to the City centre and next to Pinderfields Hospital. A superb mix of Victorian architecture and modern developments with up-to-date technology – just right for the hundreds of people who make Destiny Church their home. What should i expect?

Vibrant worship together as a family, a relevant Bible based message, and great modern children’s “Sunday School” programme too. There many people from every background and expression of faith that come to worship together. You’ll also have the opportunity to meet and connect with hundreds of people that make up the diverse yet together Destiny family.

Are there any perequisites?

Just come as you are – most people wear casual clothes, some choose to be smart. Some have attended Church before, some never. Some have religious backgrounds previously, others none – It is our hope that everyone can be welcome to come together and connect with Jesus and all he has ahead for us.

Are you a new Church?

Destiny Christian Church Wakefield began in 1999. ‘Destiny’ comes from our vision that our Church has a vital part to play in making a real difference in the City of Wakefield and around the world today – we say ‘Destiny is where everyone has a future!’ Hundreds of people from all over the City and from many nations flock to Destiny Church, making it probably the largest congregation in Wakefield.
Our Church is committed to being a credible, relevant and effective testimony to the love of God and this drives us to connect with people from every part of society. There are families, doctors, lawyers, business people and educators sitting side-by-side with factory workers, refugees and some older folk – we’re a family so all sorts of people are loved in our vibrant church. There are people in our congregation from many backgrounds too, Catholic, Pentecostal, Evangelical, Church of England, other faiths, and none – There is a place for you to connect and meet with Jesus.
